The rice-based Japanese diet must be preserved and passed down to the next generation
Rice has been at the center of Japanese cuisine since time immemorial.
Rice is a ubiquitous part of life in Japan. It is deeply connected with the country’s history, and lies at the center of many aspects of its rich culture. The traditions that rice has helped shape are still flourishing today. We need to think sbout the impoetanceof rice, and about how to preserve both rice and rice paddies -in other words, how to preserve Japan’s culture and natural environment.
We have been striving to try various activities to preserve the rice-based culture, which is closely related to Japanese history and tradition, and connect the wonderfulness of the culture to the future.
